Dr. Cheryl Haywood

Cheryl Lynn Haywood, VMD, often called Dr. Cheryl, has been a veterinarian for 30 years. She is absolutely in the right profession and considers herself the animal's advocate, always striving to do her best for them. She has been passionate about and committed to animal care since she was a young girl, and she remains this way to this day.

Dr. Cheryl grew up in Bucks County, PA, outside of Philadelphia. She attended Penn State University for her undergraduate years and attended the University of Pennsylvania for vet school. She has lived in Butler County for the past 25 years. She has a number of dogs and cats now that she calls her "kids." She also has had rabbits, guinea pigs, pet rats, and hamsters in the past. She has been involved in dog and cat rescue for 40 years, even before she became a vet!

Her special interests in veterinary medicine include:

  • Spending the time to get puppies and kittens off to a good start, both with their health and with training
  • Geriatric medicine because she loves the old ones and believes they need special care and attention as they age
  • Behavior medicine

Many of her clients have become my friends over the years, and she is always looking forward to having others join them!

Gladdy

Gladdy

Gladys, who goes by Gladdy, is a lifelong resident of Evans City and has four grown children. Currently, she has six fur babies, all rescues, including Rufus, her only dog, who was formerly one of Butler County Humane Society's finest. The other five are all cats, and each is a unique individual. Following her passion for animals and their care, Gladdy began her career as a veterinary assistant 25 years ago and still today feels as passionate and committed as ever.
